Steve Weinstein

STEVE WEINSTEIN

Stephen Weinstein has lived in North Caldwell for over 20 years with his wife, Wendy, and daughters, Allie, Sydney, and Kate. Steve and Wendy have been active in the North Caldwell community, coaching soccer and basketball for their daughters’ many teams.

During his career in finance, Steve was a Managing Director with Citigroup and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, running U.S. distribution for securitized products. Steve graduated from the University of Vermont and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Steve currently sits on the boards of Children’s Service of Greater Monmouth County and Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, both non-denominational agencies that promote food access and family wellbeing and provide mental health care and domestic violence services. He spends each Wednesday at the interfaith Food Pantry in West Orange unloading trucks and organizing provisions for underserved families.

Steve is seeking reelection for a second term on the North Caldwell Borough Council. He was elected to his first term as a councilman in 2022.  Steve serves as the chair of the Finance Committee. Over the last 3 years, Steve has worked with the Council to:

  • Manage the Borough’s budget responsibly, enhancing services, safety, and livability in North Caldwell while keeping a cap on spending.

  • Transform Walker Park into a functional open space. Authorize the installation of a cell tower to enhance safety and communication.

  • Approve the installation of the traffic light on Mountain Avenue to enhance safety in front of our school.

  • Hire more police officers to expand the North Caldwell Police Department for the first time in 15 years.

  • Install new pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts at Liberty Park.

  • Collaborated with the developers of Green Brook Country Club to decrease the number of units, lessen the impact on our school system, and reduce the visibility of the project.

  • Manage Borough finances with a generational outlook to ensure maximum benefits for future generations regarding safety, security, and resilience to economic downturns.
